Motus is less than 20 days away from publication (October 9th). Preorders are one of the best ways to improve a book’s visibility during release week. Right now, Motus isn’t likely to rank very high in any one book category based on current preorder numbers. So I’ve devised a preorder campaign to try to improve its rankings.
Preorder.
To enter into the preorder giveaway, the first step is to preorder the book (any format) sometime in the next 15 days (ends Sunday, October 5th). If you have already preordered, feel free to skip ahead.
Click on the link below and select your preferred ebook vendor. If you are interested in paperback, I believe Barnes and Noble (NOOK) is where you’ll find it.
The audiobook will also be open for preorders in the next week or so. Keep an eye out for that announcement if that’s your preferred format.
Giveaway details.
For the next 15 days (ends October 5th), I will enter anyone who preorders my book into a giveaway. Just fill in the form below.
Most preorder campaigns require that you buy through a particular website and/or provide receipts for proof of purchase. Personally, that takes too much effort and is less likely to result in people following through. So I will use the honor system instead. Keep in mind I will have my eye on preorder sales, so in the event I receive a lot more giveaway entry requests than sales, I may ask you for proof of purchase before items are shipped.
Here’s what’s in the giveaway:
- 25 will receive a character art postcard (while supplies last).
- 5 will receive a Motus concept art pin.
- 5 will receive a 3D printed Motus-themed page holder which is shaped like a pickaxe.
- 3 will receive a signed physical copy of Motus.
- One will receive a T-Shirt featuring Motus Concept art.
I am a debut novelist with a miniscule audience, so your chances to win something are pretty high.
Subscribe.
Preorders aren’t the only metric of future success. For this and any subsequent books I release, I will also need subscribers. Having a fan base who receives blog posts, writing updates, and release announcements will help me feel like I’m not speaking to the void.
So keep in mind that by entering this giveaway, you consent to being added to my email subscriber list. It isn’t often I post more than once a month outside of release periods, so this isn’t a big ask.
